Santísima Muerte

One prayer a day

Santa Muerte weekly prayers

These Santa Muerte weekly prayers give you one short prayer for each day of the week, for anyone who doesn't have time for the full novena or a long prayer. Always begin with the invocation and then say the prayer for that day.

Invocation for the week

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Most Holy Death, being of light who makes us all equal,
I come before you with an open heart.
May my days this week remain in your care,
until the hour you decide to bring me into your presence.
Beloved Death, death of my heart, do not take your protection from me.

Santa Muerte weekly prayers: one for each day

Monday: A blessing to begin the week

Most Holy Death, a new week begins today.
Place your hand over my home, my loved ones and my work.
Let no harm come through my door or reach me on the road.
So be it.

Tuesday: A prayer for health

White Girl, I come before you and ask you for health.
Keep illness away from my body, so that I can keep going.
I ask this with all my heart.
So be it.

Wednesday: Gratitude, asking for nothing

Today I do not come to ask you for anything, Most Holy Death.
I only come to thank you for the care you give me and my loved ones.
Keep covering us with your mantle.
So be it.

Thursday: For the roads to open

Before I go out today, I ask you to open the roads that lead to a peaceful life.
I do not ask for riches, only for what I need so as not to live in anguish.
I place my faith in you.
So be it.

Friday: Wisdom to guide the family

White Sister, you who carry with you the owl that sees everything in the dark,
lend me some of that wisdom.
Help me guide my loved ones well, so that they know how to act with dignity.
So be it.

Saturday: Gratitude for a new day

Thank you, my dear Skinny Lady, for letting me see one more day.
As a sign of my gratitude, I promise to keep you in my thoughts.
[Here you can silently say your own request]
Thank you for everything you give me. My trust is in you.
So be it.
